New job!

Since I started working at odd1, I learned a lot of stuff and met a lot of great people! The guys over there are really incredible and helped me being a better professional person and a great programmer. Unfortunatly, the job over there is more of a production type. They have a lot of staff so they only do big projects. That means that I can’t keep my name in every game and I lose the focus with the fans, the real reason why I like to make games.

A month ago, I started looking for a new job. A job where I can make my own games and keep contact with the fans. I found it.

Starting January 4th, ill be working full time for ArmorGames. I am sure many of you already know them, since they started the sponsorship market (as far as I can remember..) and they are now a really great company. ArmorGames is located in California and its hard to get a working visa for the united states. So ill work from canada, from the odd1 office. Ill keep touch with my friends over there and do my dream job. How amazing!

At armorgames, ill be making my own games and keep my name on each of them.

Sooo, you guys can expect new games to come out more often (every month or so). Isn’t that great?

Games for christmass

Christmass is near. What are you going to ask santa?

This year they are some many awesome games coming out I couldn’t buy them all. Here are the games I plan to ask:

superMario

Super Mario Bros. – Wii

Beatles RockBand - Xbox360

The beatles RockBand – Xbox360

Energy drinks

This post is a random life fact. No news about games here.

Since I started working hard on the computer, I took the habit to drink energy drinks. I don’t think energy drinks are deadly, or even as bad as smoking. But the thing is, as everything good in life, you have to moderate. When I started my job I had a lot of learning to do, so I started to drink one can a day. Then sometimes two. Energy drinks where not really bringing any boost anymore and my stomac was fealing strange. But I like the taste so much!

I was always arguing with my girlfriend that I was not addict to these drinks. So to prove it to myself (I tend to test myself more these times) I decided to stop drinking energy drinks for 48 days. Why 48? I first wanted to do 30, but my girlfriend said that your system takes 48 days to clean from anything. I am not sure if it is true, but why not try?

I started this cure 48 days ago and I made it. I never cheated, not even one single drop of energy drink. Here is what I learned:

- I was not addicted to the energy drink, but I was addicted to the boost of energy it gave me. My days where longuer at first, and I was less focused. You see, after taking the habit to drink these energy drinks, I didn’t need to seek challenge and drive by myself. So it was hard at first to get motivated by myself only. I guess that’s why people on anti-depressing medication have so much trouble stopping it.

- I have a lot of drive. Many people are saying that they are not addicted to drugs or anything else, but few have the guts to go out and stop to prove it to themselves. I learned a lot about myself. I am not perfect, and ill have to be carefull in the future when I drink energy drinks.

Here are some thoughts:

When your friends are telling you that you have a bad habit, try to step on your ego and really think about it. Put yourself in perspective and try to take a step back to realise what you are doing.

Energy drinks are not that bad, just don’t abuse it. Check the labels, try to find energy drinks that are not too concentrated with chemicals. Guru is a good one, 100% biological, no taurine or cafeine. And you still get the good taste and boost.

Well, I hope that was not too boring and I made you think. Congratulations to me for making it and I hope many more people will try to stop their bad habits. Thanks to my girlfriend who supported me.
